Abstract An open-source practical tool, “Super Sub Coupling”, is developed in this thesis. This tool is able to perform coupling of super-structures with sub-structure. It deals with super-structures modeled using any numerical method such as boundary element method or finite element method. The sub-structure is modeled using the advanced soil-structure interaction models presented in the PLPAK software, it models the soil as elastic half space, in addition to modeling the piles including all interaction effects, as well as non-linear analysis of sub-strcutures. The super- structures are analyzed; then “Super Sub Coupling” updates the sub-structure model with the induced super-structure reactions. Hence, the sub-substructure model is solved on advanced soil-structure interaction model. The developed tool can couple between multiple super-structures with the sub-structure. The proposed coupling technique is implemented in FORTRAN code. In addition, user friendly interface is developed. Multiple practical examples are solved |
