Abstract

An unprecedented electrochemical sensor for azithromycin (AM)
detection was executed in two different ways. Foremost, by mechanical
blending of nano-sized fumed silica (FS) with carbon paste (CP) and secondly
by electropolymerization of L-threonine on a carbon paste electrode (CPE).
Different electrochemical techniques comprising cyclic voltammetry (CV),
chronoamperometry (CA), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and
square wave voltammetry (SWV) were utilized in the introduced study in
addition to analyses techniques as scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy
dispersive X-ray (EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray
diffraction (XRD). Phosphate buffer solution (PBS) of pH range (5-10) was
employed in all AM detections. The limit of detection for FSCPE is 11×10-6 M
and for PTCPE is 0.32×10-6 M. Furthermore, outstanding and adequate results
were attained for the detec and
pharmaceutical drugs.tion of AM in real samples as blood plasma
