Abstract Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is a common procedure used in non-surgical diagnosis and treatment of such diseases. During PCI, X-ray fluoroscopy enables cardiologists to evaluate the vessel conditions and select the best treatment option which is most commonly stent deployment. The fluoroscopy-basedstent visualization is critical for successful operation and evaluation of stent conditions. In this thesis, we introduce a template-based method for digital stent enhancement through accurate localization of balloon markers and the guidewire. Our method resulted in a marker detection accuracy of 98.51%, and a matching percentage mean between the true and the detected guidewires within a 3-pixel tolerance is 99.51%. |
