Abstract This study conducted to assess seasonal variations in physiochemical and microbiological quality of groundwater at Barada village in Qalubiya governorate and El-Rahawy & Om-Dinar villages in Giza governorate. The results showed ammonia, toxic pollutants (Aluminum, iron, manganese and cadmium) organic matter, total count, total coliform and faecal coliform were exceeded Egyptian drinking water Standard (EDWS/2007) and WHO guideline in all seasons. The study concluded that raw groundwater (hand pump) in investigated sites was bad water quality for drinking water. Also, noticed high ammonium concentrations in treated groundwater of samples collected from Om-Dinar village. This could be due to the possibility that the treatment processes were not efficient enough to remove all the contaminating or inherent trace metals |
