Abstract The aim of the current study was to implement 3D imaging in order to improve bracket positioning techniques. the study involved checking the validity of current techniques for bracket positioning in addition to innovating a new method for transferring CBCT guided bracket position to patient’s mouth. This was a retrospective study. The sample of the study consisted of 10 patients who were undergoing treatment in Outpatient clinic, Orthodontic Department, Cairo University .A copy of their CBCT images and three duplicates of their original study models were obtained. The long axis of each tooth and the slot distances depending on MBT bracket positioning recommendations were drawn and defined with 0.016 stainless steel wires. The models were scanned by CBCT scanner. The model preparation procedures were repeated on the second duplicate by the same operator after one week and by another operator on the third duplicate. The long axis of each tooth on the model CBCT image was compared to the long axis of each tooth on the original patients’ CBCT images using Antomage Image processing software. Also the slot distance on each tooth in the model CBCT image was measured on the Anatomage software |
