Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of PRP on the rate of orthodontic tooth movement. Materials Methods: The sample consisted of 6 male dogs. The second premolar of all dogs was extracted bilaterally; PRP was prepared and injected around the first premolar in one side while the other one was considered as a control. Working and control sides were selected randomly. The first premolar was distalized on miniscrew for 63 days. At the end of the study, animals were killed and prepared for histological studies. Results and conclusion: The rate of orthodontic tooth movement on PRP side was greater than that on the control one with more osteoclastic activity on histological examination.
