Abstract The study in this thesis included study the possible prophylactic effect the natural product as olive oil (2.5ml / Kg) compared to indomethacin (2.5 mg / Kg) as a standard drug in different types of acute and chronic inflammation as rheumatoid arthritis. The present study was to investigate the possible anti - inflammatory effect of olive oil in different models of inflammation by the use of carrageenan (0.05ml 1% w / v, 2 ml 2% w / v) and a freund{u2019}s complete adjuvant (0.4 ml). Then the collected exudates and blood were used for estimation of certain oxidative stress and inflammation biomarkers. Finally, the prophylactic effect of olive oil compared with indomethacin in the treatment of chronic inflammation as rheumatoid arthritis, was shown.
