Abstract This study was to investigate the effect of different disinfectants and storage periods on dimensional stability of a polyether impression material. Forty five polyether impressions were taken for a machine crafted stainless steel die representing a prepared maxillary premolar. A total of forty five extahard stone dies were obtained from the polyether impressions. The impressions were equally divided into three groups according to the disinfectant used as follows: group (1): ”control” no disinfection, group (2): immersed in 2% gluatraldehyde immersed 10 minutes, group (3): immersed in 0.5 sodiumhypochlorite immersed 10 minutes. Each group was further subdivided into three subgroups according to storage periods (time of pouring after impression taking) as follows: sub group A: after 30 minutes, sub group B: after 4 hours and sub group C: after 24 hours |
