Abstract This thesis is dedicated to the study of the {u2018}Sustainable Neighborhood Development{u2019} approach in response to the recent shift of research efforts towards the development of neighborhoods where physical and non-physical attributes integrate in a manner that would achieve sustainability. Also {u2018}Neighborhood Sustainability{u2019} Rating tools that can regulate and rate/measure to what extent is a neighborhood sustainable. The thesis is structured into theoretical basis, analytical and practical studies where some Egyptian urban neighborhoods located in the new settlements of 6th of October and El-Sheikh Zayed are evaluated using a {u2018}Neighborhood Sustainability{u2019} common checklist that is concluded from a thorough study of the previously mentioned Rating tools |
