Abstract Hair loss/Baldness is prevalent problem among many of the Egyptians with many people seeking for solutions. Hair transplantation is the ideal answer for such problem. Many factors influence the outcome of surgery including scalp condition, Hair pores, Dandruff, degree of baldness and condition of hair pores. 100 cases from both sexes were interviewed for scalp surveying using a special folliscope measuring the previously mentioned factors. In addition, 250 participants shared in a questionnaire to know Egyptian{u2019}s opinion regarding Hair transplantation surgeries and its success rate. Our study results showed that more than 50% of population has sensitive scalp, nearly 40% are with damaged hair and a mean of 75% with dandruff. Also, Egyptians do not consider hair transplantation as solution for their baldness due to various factors as; financial aspects, ignorance, many do not like the idea, many are not abused from their baldness and few think it has poor results. Hair transplantation in poor scalp conditions as obtained in this study will yield non satisfactory outcomes and will influence the overall reputation of the surgery among the Egyptians, which is unfortunately not popular despite the presences of qualified Egyptians Hair transplantation surgeons and at relatively low costs compared to the other countries |
