Abstract This research aims at addressing this problem through establishing a comprehensive proposal for identifying, documenting and preserving historical parks and gardens in Egypt, as a subcomponent of cultural landscapes. This is achieved through comparatively analyzing the different approaches adopted and successfully implemented by internationally distinguished foundations that work effectively in the field, in an attempt to assemble the guidelines and criteria for the suggested proposal. These foundations include a global entity (UNESCO-WHC), an intercultural entity (Med-O-Med), a national governmental entity (NPS), a national NGO (TCLF), and finally a city scale entity (BCN) |
