Abstract Rotator cuff tears are a degenerative musculoskeletal disease that results in shoulder joint pain, which is a common disorder among the general population. The predisposing factors to rotator cuff injury are multifactorial, including age-related factors, genetic factors, gender, and metabolic factors. The main aims of partial rotator cuff tear treatment are pain reduction, decreased inflammation, and preservation of the range of movement. Conservative treatment should be the first line of management. PRP injection is a popular treatment option for a variety of musculoskeletal injuries such as rotator cuff disease, epicondylitis, acute muscle injuries, and knee osteoarthritis because it has anti-inflammatory properties and plays an important role in healing, reepithelization, and vascular integrity preservation through interactions with endothelial cells. |
