Abstract Pericardial effusion after cardiac surgery has ranged from 4.7% to 85% depending on the methodology used for its detection, but it is often benign, small in amount and usually resolves completely. Posterior Pericardiotomy(Pericardial window technique) is a simple surgical method that produces a free movement between the larger pleural cavity and the limitedpericardialcavity. Hypothetically, this move simplifies the transition of pressure from the pericardial cavity to the pleural space below. This study will try to assess the impact of Posterior Pericardiotomy technique (pericardial window) on early and late pericardial effusion and the consequent complications after cardiac surgery. |
