المستخلص The modern trends in textile printing design field are diverse, which always urges us to maintain the continuity of finding and innovating new design ideas that keep up with our era. These ideas are inspired by various sources from which the designer derives their ideas to create design elements, shapes, and colors that can be manipulated to be suitable for textile printing. Ancient civilizations and heritage are extremely important sources for textile printing designers, not just for designers but also in our current era, we find that many writers, novelists, filmmakers, and others have recently turned their attention to the art of ancient myths and drawn inspiration from many of their events and characters in the context of some of their dramatic works. This is because there is a great artistic, visual, and narrative richness in the art of myths and ancient civilizations. The myth in the minds of many people in our era is wrongly associated with superstition. The truth is that the myth is completely different from superstition, as superstition is the result of pure imagination that does not rely on any realistic reference. In contrast, the myth is rooted in an existing and historically recorded reality during the time it occurred. Then, it resorts to deep imagination in shaping it for this reality. Mythology, or the study of myths, is a modern science that was not known to ancient scholars as we know it today and study it. Until the end of the 19th century, Western thinkers considered myths, in their common meaning, to be fabricated stories and illusions. The science of mythology developed in the 20th century, as scholars began to study myths in a more scientific and analytical way, discovering their historical, cultural, and psychological significance. |
