Abstract In this present study, an attempt was made to investigate phytochemical content of Delonix regia(Hook) Raf.(D. regia), Bougainivillea glabra(choicy) (B. glabra), C. nodosa Buch.- Ham. ex Roxb (C. nodosa) , and Tecoma Stans - (l.) Juss. Ex kunth (T. stans). Plants were collected from college of Agriculture, Zagazig University and Diarb Nigm city. Plants type were verified by the Botany Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University. The flowers of D. regia, B. glabra , T. stans plants, and the leaves of the C. nodosa plant, dried in shade and grinded for different analyses. The crude extracts of these plants were taken for evaluating the nutrients composition, such as Carbohydrates, protein, fat, fiber, ash and mineral content such as (Na, K, Co, P etc.) also the biological activities were evaluated. The pigments content of the previous plants was evaluated and quantified by HPLC for the first three plants above, and Spectrophotometer was used for the last plant. Polysaccharides of D. regia was extracted in water, evaluated, determined, and characterized was with NMR, FTIR and HPLC. The results showed that the mentioned plants have protein, carbohydrates , lipids, ash, fibers, Ca, Na, Mg, and K . Phenolic and flavonoids contents in different ratios. Plants extracts were found to contain 51.2 μg/g determined as (Cyn 3-O-glu.) at a 1800 μg/mL concentration of D. regia, 33.79 μg.g-1 as a total carotenoids of T. stans, 28.04 μg.g-1 as a total betalains of B. glabra detected by HPLC, and Chl. A 13570.8772 and Chl. b 12210.1301 mg/L detected by spectrophotometer. D. regia contains crude polysaccharides amounted to 13.6 g / liter. The plant extracts showed antibacterial activity, and inhibitor effect on cancer cells at different concentrations. The structure of the polysaccharides extracted showed three functional groups: C=O, C-H, and O-H. Polymer composed of glucose, galactose, mannose, arabinose, and gluconic acid as monosaccharides. In vivo level, the rats that were received a diet containing DRPE showed regular liver markers (AST, ALP, and ALT); kidney markers (urea and creatinine); high TP, TA, and GSH; and low MDA, while rats treated with synthetic dye and aspartame showed higher liver and kidney markers; lowered TP, TA, and GSH; and high MDA. D. regia flower extract (DRPE), it can be safely added to strawberry yogurt drink to improve color, taste, lightness, and redness as well as preservation. So, including DRPE in food formulation as a natural colorant and sweetener may recommended for preserving health and the environment. |
