Abstract
The study included two cohorts. Cohort-A prospectively included 300 patients with acute anterior STEMI who underwent PPCI, and cohort-B retrospectively recruited 60 patients with prior anterior MI and established diagnosis of LVT that were prospectively followed-up. Patients with an apical LVT among both groups received either VKA, namely warfarin or DOAC. All patients were followed-up for at least three months duration for LVT development/resolution (prospective group) and LVT resolution (retrospective group). Included patients underwent baseline and follow-up echocardiographic examination including biplane LV volumes and function, GLS as well as regional longitudinal LS and radial RS strain. Patients were also followed-up for the occurrence of MACE as well as assessment of the safety of the given anticoagulant therapy.
