Abstract The present research aimed at investigating the use of a computer assisted program to develop primary stage pupils’ English pronunciation skills and selfconfidence. The targeted pronunciation sub- skills were (consonants, , vowels and intonation). The research adopted the quasi-experimental design. A group of sixty pupils (males and females) was selected from fifth year primary stage, in Mohamed Al- Dorra Experimental Language School, Al-Mahalla Al-kobra, El Gharbya Governorate for the school year (2022-2023). They were chosen and assigned into two groups; the experimental group (30 pupils) was trained using a computer assisted pronunciation program while the control group (30 pupils) was taught according to the traditional method. Instruments designed and used in the research were a pre-post pronunciation test, scoring rubric, pre-post self-confidence scale. The experimental treatment was conducted during the two months of (March and April) of the academic year (2022-2023). Results indicated significant differences in the pre and post performance of the research group on the EFL pronunciation test and the selfconfidence scale in favor of the post administration. These results emphasized that the computer assisted program led to enhancing the participants` pronunciation skills and their self-confidence in learning English language |
