Abstract Egypt, like many other countries, has recently witnessed a significant decline in per capita availability of water due to population growth. Therefore, it was necessary to find new unconventional resources, such as reusing agricultural drainage water, taking advantage of low salinity groundwater, and desalinating water. The current study aims to evaluate the quality of groundwater for agricultural purposes in the Western Desert of Egypt and concurrently evaluate the economic feasibility of different desalination systems and membranes based on the produced water’s quality. |
