Abstract Diabetes mellitus (DM) disorder is one of the top ten leading causes of death worldwide. The current first-line drugs are unable to cure type-2 diabetes mellitus (T2-DM), and may evoke severe side effects on the vital organs. Finding new antidiabetic agents with high efficacy and low side effects is needed. This study was conducted to evaluate the antidiabetic effect of the Jellyfish venom (JVE) and umbrella extracts (JUE) in streptozotocin (STZ) induced T2-DM rats. Twenty specimens of Scyphomedusa, Rhopilema nomadica (Cnidaria, Scyphozoa, Rhizostomeae) were collected from the Mediterranean Sea, Miami station, Alexandria, Egypt in June 2022. |
