المستخلص The current study sought to identify the level of use of data journalism skills among new journalists in local Jordanian media, verify the suitability of the proposed training program based on the theory of technological determinism in maintaining the development of the use of data journalism skills among new journalists in local Jordanian media, and identify Differences in the use of data journalism skills according to gender among new journalists in local Jordanian media. The study used the experimental method, by applying it to a sample of new journalists, and the researcher used the theory of technological determinism. The study concluded with a number of results, including:- There is an average level of use of data journalism skills among members of the experimental and control group in the pre-measurement.- There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post-application in developing the use of data journalism skills in favor of the experimental group.- There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post-application of the skill of obtaining, collecting and organizing data in favor of the experimental group. - There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post-application of the skill of refining and cleaning data in favor of the experimental group. - There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post-application of the skill of analyzing and interpreting data in favor of the experimental group. - There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post-application of the storytelling skill in favor of the experimental group. - There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post-application of the visual representation skill in favor of the experimental group. - There are no statistically significant differences in the experimental group according to demographic characteristics (gender - educational level - specialization). - There are no statistically significant differences in the experimental group between the post and follow-up measurements - There is interest among experts in training programs to use data journalism skills and a need for training. |
