Abstract
Earlier literature on the chemistry of oxime and hydrazone-oxime complexes has been reviewed. Spectral, magnetic and stereochemical properties of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes were also mentioned. Preparation of diacetylmonoxime isobutryl, Girard-D and substituted benzoyl hydrazones and their metal complexes was described. Two main types of complexes were isolated having the general formulae M(H2L)X2 and M(H2L)2X2 (keto complexes) or M(HL)2 and M(L)n H2O (enol complexes) where H2L = undissociated ligand an M = Cu2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cd2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, Hg2+ and UO2 (VI).
