Abstract Thermophilic microorganisms have the advantage of growing at higher temperature that coupled study deals with keratinolytic thermophilic bacteria. The three investigated bacilli exhibited a common feature namely that the length of the rods and the number of cells in chain increased with rising the incubation temperature reached maximum mostly at optimum temperature, giving a plateau thereafter. The results in the present investigation showed that the solubilization of chicken feather yield of keratinase enzyme or hydrolysis products differed with organism, incubation temperature and/or age. |
