Abstract
The objective of the study is to obtain a clear idea about the effect of human activity (agricultural and industrial) on the pollution of the North of Delta soils, water and bottom sediments and to study the effect of the textural as well as the mineralogical composition of the soil profiles and bottom sediments of drains and canals on the distribution and cycles of the pollutant elements such as CU, ZN, MN, FE, CO, PB, NI, and CD. The studied area is located between longitudes 30° 32” and 31° 15” E and latitudes 31° 13” and 31° 39” N, covering an area of about 215, 40 km² and extends from Kafr El - Sheikh in the south to Baltim in the north.
