Abstract

This study was carried out on ten male patients to evaluate and compare the stresses transmitted on maxillary edentulous ridge by complete denture with three different occiusal schemes (Fully balanced occlusion, Mandibular functional’generated path maxillary balanced occlusion and Mandibular and maxillary functional generated path occlusion).
For every patient, Maxillary and mandibular complete dentures were constructed by the conventional method and processing errors were eIiminted by selective grinding using laboratory and clinical remounting.
After insertion and settlement of the dentures, strain gauges and strainometer were used to evaluate the stresses transmitted by balanced occiusal scheme to the maxillary supporting stuctures.
posterior composite resin was used over the reduced upper and lower acrylic occlusal surface for establishing function enerated occlusion at the chair-side in one appointment.
