Abstract This study was conducted to demonstrate and evaluate he histopathological and histochemical effects of repeated xposure to isoflurane anaesthesia on rat’s liver under ifferent conditions, enzyme induction, low protein diett tress and hypoxia. Rats of the Albino type were used and they were o f either sex and nearly of the same age. The rats were classified into 5 groups: Group (1) : Isoflurane exposed animals : he animals of this group were divided into the following subgroups~ each consisting of 6 rats. l.a. The rats were exposed repeatedly to.1% isoflurane carried by oxygen, for 30 minutes, every other day for 12 exposure. I.b. The animals of this subgroup were exposed to oxygen only and kept as control. 1 . c . The rats of this subgroup were expo, sed to 1% ISO flurane carried by hypoxic mixture (10% oxygen in nitrogen). l.d. The rats of this subgroup were kept as control and exposed to hypoxic mixture-onily. |
