Abstract This study is designed to show the relation between preoperative lung condition and post operat¬ive chest complications . 20 patients suffering from carcinoma of the urinary bladder and subjected to the operation of radical cystectomy represent the study. Post operative pulmonary complications develo¬ped in nine patients, three of them were free pre-operatively as regard clinical and radiological exam¬ination. The incidence of complications in this study was 45 % . The prolonged surgical interference and the head down position during surgery together with other factors make these patients susceptible to post oper¬ative chest infection . The aim of this study is to find a relation between the pre operative lung condition and the inci¬dence of post operative pulmonary complications . To predict the occurrence of post operative pulmonary complication we first analyse the correla¬tion between post operative pulmonary complications. |
