Abstract

On . conclusion, although portal vascular impact of the colon is’ rather common and we should diagnose it through colonoscopic procedure. We can not suggest these vascular changes neither from symptomatology nor biopsy as it has no clinical itnplication. But it has a diagnostic profile that colopathy in particular could, be an asher for advanced hepatocellular state in the portal hypertensive syndrome. So, while vascular colopathy increases with the advance of hepatic illness, anorectal varices significantly associated with portal hypertensive gastropathy and in particular in non bleeders. The colonic vascular lesions although asymptomatic are a potential source for acute or chronic lower gastrointestinal bleeding. Thus portal colopathy in conjunction with portal gastropathy may occasionally require pharmacological portal decompressive therapy. B-blocking agents improves the endoscopic grading and decreases subsequent upper gastrointestinal bleeding from such lesions. So, additional studies are required to determine not only the true incidence of colonic vascular lesions but also whether B¬antagonists could have a considerable effect or not.
