Abstract The skin is a striking and readily available indicator of several diseases. Dermatology, along with pathology and radiology, is one of the three visually oriented disciplines of medicine. The aim of the present work is to evaluate skin signs as a diagnostic and prognostic parameters of some systemic disorders. The present work was done on 71 patients, divided into 3 main groups. Group I: Cases with systemic Lupus Erythmatosus. This group comprised 12 female patients, all of them showed 4 or more of the 11 American Rheumatic Association criteria for diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus. Group II: Patients with Hypothyroidism, this group comprised, 5 patients with primary hypothyroidism, 4 patients with secondary hypothyroidism, all were diagnosed on clinical & biochemical basis. Group III: Include 50 patients with Diabetes Mellitus, subdivided into, 25 patients with Insulin Dependant Diabetes, 25 patients with Non Insulin Dependant Diabetes, They were diagnosed on both clinical and laboratory criteria. |
