Abstract Twenty patients with limb threatening ischemia or intermittent laudications were referred from the surgical departments of Mansoura University Hospitals. Their ages ranged from 45-80 years with a mean age of 61.9 years. Patient population consisted of 15 . males (75%) and 5 females (25%). They were studied with arteriography and CDS. Four cases were studied with MRA and four ~ cases with CT angiography. Atherosclerotic lesions in ilio-femoro-popliteal segments were classified using CDS into: normal, hemodynamically non¬significant (Less than 50% DR), hemodynamically significant lesion (50-99% DR) and total occlusion (100% DR) while in infra-popliteal segment, CDS classified segment into either patent or occluded. Exact agreement between arteriography and CDS was found in 96% in diagnosing hemodynamically significant stenosis and complete occlusion, sensitivity of CDS in the ilio-femoro-popliteal segments was 94%, specificity 95% and accuracy 95%. In the infra¬popliteal arterial segments, there was an agreement between arteriography and CDS in 81 % in diagnosing complete occlusion, CDS revealed sensitivity of 74%, specificity of 85% and accuracy of 79%. |
