Refinements in breast reconstruction have aided greatly in alleviating this harsh attack on the patients feminity and wellbeing. Breast reconstruction has become an essential part of breast cancer management. This study has been present to demonstrate autogenous reconstruction of the breast after mastectomy for cancer in 60 patients. The complications of autogenous breast reconstruction were fully discussed and guide lines for their avoidance were suggested as their causes were avoidable. We also declared the indications of immediate reconstruction and the use of radiation therapy either pre or post reconstruction. Patients who are morbidly obese were at very high risk of failure and complications and should avoid any type of TRAM flap breast reconstruction. |
