Abstract The ann of this work is to assess the value of transrectal ultrasound in the diagnosis of the obstructive lesions in the distal ductal system, either acquired or congenital, which leads to azoospermia and infertility in men as well. Thirty infertile men, were selected for this study. Their ages ranged from 22-45 years, and all of them were infertile with low volume azoospermia or oligospermia, or isovolaemia, azoospermia. And all of them were referred from the Andrology Department of Mansoura University. They were examined by transrectal probe, which is an endfire probe with high frequency about 65-9 MHz, they were examined in the left lateral decubitus after covering the prob by a condom cover and also after doing a cleansing enema. The final results of 30 infertil men were reported as three patients with bilateral absent vas deference, one patient with unilateral absent vas, one patient with bilateral vasal hypoplasia, three patients with congenital cysts of the distal duct system one patient with acquired cystic dilation of the seminal vesicle, fourteen patients with infected prostate and/or seminal vesicles, and the last |
