Abstract The present work was carried out to investigate the effect of the degree of hyperglycae.mia in alloxan diabetic rats on serum glycoproteins (Protein-bound- hexose 0 ), on plasma heparin levels and on serurn glucuronic acid levels. The study includes the following groups: qI2LP i: Comprises 10 normal rats to act as a control. GrouR ii: Comprises 20 alloxan diabetic rats. Diabetic rats were subdivided into the following subgroups according to the level of blood glucose. .q~u ~ JIjaj: Moderate alloxan diabetic rats, with blood glucose level more than 180 mg ’jo and less than 240 Mg ’lo- Group II(b): Severe hyperglycaemia, level more than 240 mg %. Based on the results obtained in this work~ it was apparent that: 1- Serum glucuronic acid and plasma ..eparin 10”19 were significantly increased in both alloxan diabetic groups in comparison with the contr<>l groLqa. |
