Abstract The present study included 83 eyes of 67 diabetic patients. A macular map of the retinal thickness in the nine ETDRS regions was done for each eye before starting laser treatment and during the follow up periods. Macular map was used to detect the development and resolution of macular oedema and was suitable for both initial screening and longitudinal followup for eyes under going laser photocoagulation therapy. The magnitude of reduction in the macuar thickness by using OCT at the end of the 6th month post laser treatment is more reliable and conclusive. |
