Abstract In order to investigate some of varing hill spacing diversity nitrogen fertilizer levels and different harvisting dates on productivity and quality of rice grain of Giza 177 rice cultivar described as short duration cultivar . Two successive fields experiments were carried out at Elklalah village,Belkas district,Dakahlia governorate ,Egypt during the two summerseasons of 2000 and 2001 . The expermental design followed in these experiments was spiltspilt plot design with four replication . Giza 177 rice cultivar as ashort duration cultivar was selscted for this this investigation . The main plot included three hill spacing namely ; 10 x 15 cm , 20 x15 cm and 30 x15 cm . the sub plots were devoted to the following five nitrogen fertilizer levels; 0,20,40, 60 and 80 kg N/fed , finally the threeharvisting times randomly distributed in the sub sub plots as follows; 30, 35 and 40 days after heading . As for the studies traits in the present study were titeld in two main topics as following: Ayeild and its attributes : 1 plant height(cm) 2 number of tillers(m2) 3number of pannicles/m2 4panicle length 5panicle weight (g) 6number of filled (grains/panicle) 71000grain weight 8grain yield (t/fed) 9straw yield (t/fed) 10harvest index Bgrain quality traits: 1hulling percentage 2milling percentage 3head rice percentage 4protein content It could be concluded that yield potential can be achived by planting Giza 177 with spacing of 20x15 cm and addition 80 kg N kg/fed and to be harvested at 35 days after heading. |
