Abstract It is searched about the following and revealed that 1 Macroscopic appearance of gonads: Composed of two lobes of equal size. 2 Gonadosomatic index: more higher in open sea than in captivity farm 3Oogenesis: Each developing oocyte was surround by a single layer of follicular cells 4 Scanning electronmicroscopic observations of egg surface: Consists of five stages and ova of open sea have well developed micropyle while of captivity farm have deformed micropyle 5 Numbers and % of oogonial stages during development: There are more atretic eggs in case of captivity farm more than in open sea fishes. 6 Testis development :degenerating vitellogenic oocytic material in the presence of proliferating testicular material , were present throughout the length of the gonad in all transitional individuals. 7 Seasonal changes in testicular activity : revealed the presence of the following stages. Immature period (Spring & Summer)Prespawning period (Autumn & Winter) Spawning period (MidJanuary) : 8 Scanning electron microscopic of testicular structure: In open sea fish the testicular structure attained more develped 9 TEM of testicular structure: In both open sea and capitivity farm fishes, the development of germ cells proceeded till maturation. However, spawning fail to occur in capitivity fishes. 10 Utrastructure of adenohypophysis: Three types of adenohypophysis cells were illustrated including somatotroph , gonadotroph & corticotroph cells. |
