Abstract β-thalasemia is a major public health problem, it is the most common chronic helmolytic anaemia in Egypt. The present study was done in an attempt to find out the frequency, pattern and factors influencing red cells alloimmunization secondary to multiple blood transfusions in β-thalassemic patients. The explanation of this phenomenon may be helpful to lowering or preventing alloimmunization hence decreasing the morbidity and mortality |
