Abstract The aim of the present study is to develop, fabricate and evaluated a simple machine for lifting cotton stalks including the root system, This study evaluated performance at some parameters as : four forward speeds ( 0.51, 0.80, 1.00 and 1.22 m/s.), two rotating speeds of lifter ( 2.45 and 3.68 m/s.), three digging depth (10, 15 and 20 cm), three inclination angle of lifter (15, 30 and 45 deg.) and three inflation pressure of lifter tires (124, 172 and 241 kPa.) The main results gained from the present study may be summarized as follows: The optimum lifting operation condition obtained at forward speed of 0.51 m/sec, lifting wheels speed 3.68 m/sec, digger depth 20cm, inclination angle 45 deg and inflation 241kPa. The lifting efficiency of cotton stalks (96 %), field efficiency was 93.09%), The minimum value of fuel consumption (5.5 L/h). power consumption (17.4 kW), energy requirements (52.64 kW.h/Fed.) and total operation cost of tractor machine combination (57.10, L.E/Fed.) |
