Abstract The levels of IL-10 were found to be increased significantly in TB serum when compared with controls (p<0.001), Also, the levels oSIL-10 were found to be increased significantly in pleural effusion when compared with serum the same patients (p<0.01). The levels of ADA were found increased significantly in serum from IB patient than those of controls. (p<0,001). Also higher level of ADA was found in pleural effusion than in serum from (he same patients (p<0.05). A significant higher level of NO was found in TB serum than control (p<0.001). However; a significant lower level was found in pleural effusion when compared with serum from the same patients (p<0.00l). In conclusion patients with pulmonary TB have marked disturbances in cytokines in the form of INF-y, TNF-a and IL-10 together with enhanced levels of the inflammatory mediators NO. Meanwhile, the activity levels of : ADA are also increased. These items would reflect immune reactions in these patients. |
