Abstract The present study was carried out on the lungs of 198 one-humped camel fetuses of both sexes ranging from 25- 1250 mm CR length. The biometrical data revealed that the total lung weight increased from 0.12 g in fetuses of 38 mm CR length to reach 869 g at term. The rapid increase in the lung weight was recorded in fetuses of 330 mm CR length, toward the term of pseudoglandular stage. It increased 1.5 fold in early embryonic stage, 86 fold in pseudoglandular stage, 5.8 fold in canalicular stage and 6.6 fold in the alveolar stage. |
