Abstract Chronic LBP is considered to be one of the most common and more difficult problems encountered by health care practitioners. Patients are often dissatisfied with the limited effectiveness of conventional therapies, reluctant to use daily analgesics, and strongly motivated to get well. This combination of factors leads to a quest for alternative means of improving mobility or achieving a lasting recovery. Recently, Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) interventions have been increasing in popularity over the past two decades. The information given in this essay is just a review of the recent evidence for or against the effectiveness of some of the most common CAM forms used today in chronic LBP, that are : Hypnotherapy ,Acupuncture, Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy(PEMF) and Spinal Manipulation. |
