Abstract The oxidation of ethylene glycol has been carried out on Pt/MOX/GC modified electrode with various MOX:Pt loading ratio in H2SO4. The data obtained were compared with that obtained at Pt and electrode tested under the same experimental conditions. All Pt/MOX/GC modified electrodes exhibit high catalytic activity over that of smooth Pt electrode. At optimum conditions the enhancement decreases in the order: Pt/SnO2/GC ≈ Pt/WO3/GC > Pt/CeO2/GC > Pt The tolerance efficiency obtained from chronoamperometric techniques was found to decrease in the following order: Pt/CeO2/GC > Pt/WO3/GC > Pt > Pt/SnO2/GC. |
