Abstract Rheumatic heart disease is the most common and serious cardiac disorder in children end young adults. limiting their effioiency and crippling them at an age where they are expected to be most contributing and productive to their community. Plasma visoosi ty has been a subj ect of increasing interest in studing rheumatic disease, it is a test for .activity of the disease. OUr present study comprised 28 patients with chro¬nic rheumatic valvular heart disease, 15 females end 13 males with age ranging from 10 years to 3~) years, as well as 10 healthy subjects as a control group. our cases were divided into a non complicated group and three complicated groupS of rheumatic valvular les- ions. Both the patients and the control group are submi¬tted to thorough history taking, full clinical examina¬tion, E.a.G. and investigations including blood viscosity, haematocri t value, total serum protein, serum globulin, plasma fibrinogen, total serwn lipidS end serum choles- terol. |
