Abstract With increased concern over the environmental pollution, development and installation of nitrogen oxide reduction methods in combustion devices have become an important issue. An analytical study has been performed to predict rates of nitrogen oxide formation in gaseous fuel combustion flames. Study has been carried out for different gaseous fuel at different operating conditions mainly; equivalence ratio, combustion air temperature and pressure. Also effect of water injection as an effective method to control the nitrogen oxide formation during the combustion process was studied theoretically. Chemical kinetic analysis of global reaction scheme was studied to predict the concentrations of different species in combustion products. Related equations are set up and solved using the computational program called Engineering Equation Solver (EES). Also, an experimental study has been carried on a gaseous fuel combustor out to validate the predicted results. Comparison between the predicted and experimental results shows acceptable agreement |
