Abstract The present thesis is mainly devoted to study the subsurface structure of the Nile Delta area using geophysical methods. The methods applied include the residual magnetism, second vertical derivative, downward continuation and the field reduced to the pole anomaly techniques. As far as the structural geology of the Nile Delta is concerned different concepts have been lately suggested. Yallouse and Knetsch (1954) considered the Nile Delta as a ” graben like ” feature, fractured in late Oligocene time or Early Miocene i.e contemporane with the Gulf of Suez. |
