Abstract
The present investigation haS been carried out on Vegetable marrow plants (Cucurbita repo,L.) EI-Eskandrani varaiety and aimed to study -the effects of some growth. regulators i.e. ethrel alone ’) or combined with Indole-3- acetic acid and Maleic hydrazide on the development of the yield and fruit quality . Two experiments were carried out during the winter season of 71/1972and 72/1973. Plants were grown under field conditions in the Horticulture farm faculty of Agriculture , Al-Azhar University at Nasr City, Cairo, where the soil is poor sandy soil highly heterogeneous in productivity. Foliage application of different growth regulators was done and it comprised ethrel at concentrations of100,200 and 300 ppm alone or combined with Indole-3- acetic acid at concentrations of 100;150 and -200 ppm. Also the Maleic hydrazide at concentrations of 100;200 and 300 ppm were tested. The plants received two sprays, 20 and 40 days after sowing. A randomized blocks Arrangement with3 replicates were followed in both experiments.
