Abstract Objectives: - Investigate the effect of some organic fertilizer (cattle manure and chicken manure), phosphorus levels, biofertilizer (phosphorien) and potassium fertilizer on vegetative growth characters and bulb growth, yield and its components and chemical composition of cloves and storability of garlic plants. Methods & Results: 1- Two filed experiments were carried out at Tawila village Dakahlia Governorate during two successive seasons (2003/2004 and 2004/2005) on garlic cultivar sids-40 which selected from Chinese cultivar. 2- Fertilization of garlic plants with 30 m3/fed cattle manure + 50 kg P2O5/fed with phosphorien at the rate of 3 kg/fed + 60 kg K2O/fed + 1% K2O/fed foliar fertilization gave the highest significant average clove weight, average bulb weight and bulb yield (ton/fed) in both seasons of study. 3- Fertilization of garlic plants with 20 m3/fed chicken manure + 50 kg P2O5/fed with phosphorien at the rate of 3 kg/fed + 60 kg K2O/fed + 1% K2O/fed foliar fertilization gave the highest significant average clove weight, average bulb weight and bulb yield (ton/fed) in both seasons of this work. Conclusion: - Application of 30 m3/fed cattle manure or 20 m3/fed chicken manure + 50 kg P2O5/fed with phosphorien at the rate of 3 kg/fed + 60 kg K2O/fed + 1% K2O/fed foliar fertilization could be recommend for higher yield with good quality of garlic plants under the conditions of Dakahlia district. |
