Abstract
This work was planned to evaluate the late resu1ts following intramedullary nailing for treatment femoral shaft fractures in adults . The were 80 patient treated by the ret rog rade method using Kun tsche r naiIs. The age of these patients ranged from 17-75 years . There were 56 males and 24 females . The right femur were affected in 41 cases and the left were affected in 39 cases. The fracture affected the middle thir d in 65 patients ,the upper third in 7 cases and the lower third in 8 cases. The type of the fracture was transevese in 70 cases, spiral in 6 ,spiral with a butterfly in 2 and comminuted in 2 cases.
