Abstract A comparative feeding experiment was carried out in the experimental Poultry Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University, to study the effect levels of fiber in the diet on performance of Bouscat rabbits. A total of 52 Bouscat rabbits at 5 weeks of age were divided randomly into 3 groups (20,20 and 12 rabbits) and assigned to three dietary fiber 7%, 12% and 17% respectively. At 9 weeks of age, the first group was divided into two subgroups each had 7 rabbits and assigned to two dietary fiber 7% and 12% fiber. The second group was divided into two subgroups each 8 rabbits and assigned to two dietary fiber 12% and 17% fiber. The third group was restricted to 8 rabbits and fed the 17% fiber diet. At 9 weeks of age, 2 males and 2 females from each treatment were slaughtered to carry on the interior study. At 13 weeks of age, 3 males and 3 females from each treatment were slaughtered to carry on the interior study |
