Abstract This thesis presents fully automatic approach for information extraction from digitized gray level images of Telecom Egypt diagrams. The information are feed into database system for later use by Telecom Egypt technicians staff. The first step is to separate between the graphic components and the text associated to them. The segmented texts are recognized by OCR system. The diagrams are segmented into graphics components as lines, curves, and filled regions. The segmented graphics components are recognized by the system as Distribution Points (DPs), Joint Boxes (JBs), and cables that connecting between DPs and JBs. The extracted information from the recognized texts are matched with the recognized graphic components and are feed into a database system. |
