What factors of photography and stereoscopy may vary and thus cause or change vertical exaggeration? Variable photographic factors are air base ”B” focal length ”f”, and camera hight ”H”. Variable stereoscopic factors are viewing distance ”d” photograph separation ”s” and eye base ”E”. A change in any one of these variables will produce a change in the amount of vertical exaggeration, as geometrically illustrated before.
In brief, vertical exaggeration varies:
1- Directly with air base ”B” (inversely with over 1-ap).
2-Inversely with camera focal, length f.
3- Inversely with camera weight, H.
4- Directly with viewing distance ”d”.
5- Directly with photograph separation ”S”.
6- Inversely with eye base ”E”.
These variable influences may be summarized in the following qualtitative expression. This is not a formula or equation.
